VIIF 2012

Hello friends,

A few weeks have passed already since Judy and I were at The Vancouver International Improv Festival and we wanted to write a little post to reflect/report on our experience, as well as to thank some important people who made it possible.

If you've never been to VIIF, you should make it a goal to go. VIIF is a week long improv festival in Vancouver featuring groups from all over Canada, the U.S, as well as some international performers. Each night you can show up to see your favourite groups, and be pleasantly surprised by the groups you don't know.

Judy and I had a wonderful time throughout the whole week. We felt good about our set on the Tuesday night (following the awesome set from Hip.Bang!), and then had the rest of the week to enjoy the other shows. There were so many inspiring groups. We particularly loved the sets of two other female duo troupes - Virginia Jack (Nicole Passmore and Briana Rayner) and The Kristen and Amie Show (Kristen Schier and Amie Roe).

We'd like to thank Alistair Cook and his VIIF team so much for having us as part of the festival. We were so honoured to be a part of such an excellent event.

Secondly, we'd like to thank the Saskatchewan Arts Board for their very generous support. Their financial assistance through the Travel Grant program helped us to cover our airfare, accommodation, and meal costs for the week. We could not have done it without you. Thank you!

All in all, VIIF was just the best, joy-filled, inspiring time. We hope to do it again soon.

That's all for now, folks. As always, check back again for more upcoming updates!

Sincerely,

Lucy & Judy (Dot & Mae)
